Heyyyyy there ladies and gents, it’s been a(cringe-worthy)while eh? Ha. To be frank, with shoots piling up and my little business growing like mad, sitting down and blogging has not even been on my ‘to-do-in-a-few-months’ list.
But hey, it’s a new year (yes I’m still holding on to that) and I cleverly went and got myself a blogging schedule.
Yeah man, I’m back in the game. XO
So this little big-eyed beauty (and when I say big-eyed, I mean BIG-eyed (word on the street is she entered this world 'eye’s wide open' – a first for the delivery doc)) is my younger sister’s college friend’s daughter.
In other words - our surrogate niece and most precious & favorite play thing.
Alyia, so adorably named, is undoubtedly an old soul. Though she was just a tender 4 month old babe at the time of this shoot, every time our eyes locked I got the feeling her wisdom had already (sadly) surpassed my own.
Watch out world.
Shooting infants is by no means an easy feat, and at the end of these sessions I'm usually drenched in sweat with my shame kindly waiting for me at the door, but with my ‘do anything to get the shot’ attitude, cat-like camera instincts and the help of Alyia’s chiller-than-a-grey-goose-martini parents, I dare say we captured some classics.
The love these two have for each other and their precious little creation is achingly apparent and they were happy to spend an hour focusing on exactly that. XO
